06 March to 13 March 2027

"Flourishing through Ashtanga Yoga with Yogarose"

Join Rose Ann for a week in the beautiful surroundings of Purple Valley, Tenerife. During this retreat you will have the perfect opportunity to dive deeply into your practice, nourishing, absorbing and developing a sense of inquiry, space, grounding and curiosity.

This yoga retreat is based on the traditional method of learning Ashtanga yoga with Rose Ann guiding you every step of the way.  Rose Ann’s vast experience and knowledge will guide you in the nourishing, supportive and beautiful surroundings of Purple Valley, Tenerife.

The retreat is open for all levels of practitioners – from beginners to advanced.

Retreat Schedule

This year Roseann offers both led sessions as well as Mysore style classes. While more seasoned ashtanga practitioners can join the the Mysore classes, newer ashtanga students will benefit from the guided classes in the beginning of the week. This will allow the new practitioners to build their skills and confidence to enable them to join the Mysore sessions in the middle of the week.

Each morning starts with Pranayama and either a guided primary session or Mysore style practice. In both sessions each student will receive individual support and guidance to develop and transform the Ashtanga practice.  The afternoons will offer 3 workshops.  Each afternoon workshop will end with a guided relaxation.

About the Teacher

Rose Ann is a highly experienced senior yoga teacher accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals. She started to practice in 2005 and she started to teach in 2008. Her personal inquiry into the realms of yoga and practice practice over the years it have taken her to London, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Italy, Spain, Germany, Goa and the home of Ashtanga, Mysore, in Southern India. She has studied with Sharath, grandson of the famous grandson of Sri K Pattabhi Jois, both in London and in Mysore as well as studying with a number of senior teachers within the ashtanga world, including John Scott, Scott Johnson, David Keil, Petri Raisanen, Paul Dallaghan, Kino McGregor, Andrea Lutz, Sarah Hatcher, Cathy Moran, Emma Isokivi and more recently Manju Jois and, the last to be certified by Pattabhi Jois, Phillipa Asher. Rose Ann has studied pranayama with OP Tiwari and Ayurveda with Diana Kras, a consultant with Maharishi Ayurveda and approved trainer for College of Ayurveda (UK).

Rose Ann is the founder of Yogarose established in 2010 and also teaches in various yoga studios including Merchant City Yoga where she assists with the CYS teacher training programme and regularly delivers weeklong intensive Mysore classes.

Rose Ann’s background is from the fitness industry and was focused heavily, especially in the early years, of high intensity and cardiovascular training. Rose Ann first started to explore practicing yoga to counter the effects of her physically demanding work.  Aware that she required dynamic stretches to prevent injuries, discovering Ashtanga was a complete revelation.  Her daily practice extends to her whole life, family and is part of who she is. Ashtanga yoga has given the realisation of what is important to her. Rose Ann is dedicated to teaching traditional Ashtanga yoga and loves sharing her knowledge and experience with the emphasis on enjoying yoga, whilst never losing the traditional teachings passed down from teacher to student.

Practical Information About The Retreat Centre

Our retreat centre, Finca Naranjas (previously known as Cristoforo), is a simple yet deeply beautiful sanctuary nestled in the heart of South Tenerife. It was lovingly designed by architect Denis Devaris, who envisioned it as a meeting place for spiritual seekers. Built slowly over the course of 30 years using volcanic rock from the island, each room carries its own unique charm, full of character, thoughtful details, and personal touches.

The Meals

Our meals are prepared with love by our wonderful retreat chefs, offering fresh, wholesome dishes that are entirely vegetarian and mostly vegan. Wherever possible, we use local and organic ingredients to support both your wellbeing and the surrounding environment. Occasionally, eggs or dairy may be included in some meals.

If you have any food allergies or sensitivities, please let us know in advance.  Gluten-free options are available.

We also have a self-service tea and coffee station available throughout the day, and we do our best to provide fresh fruit for light snacking between meals.  You’re welcome to enjoy your meals either indoors or outside in the peaceful beauty of our garden.

The Practice

Our retreat offers an intimate practice setting, with a maximum of 25 students and morning classes limited to 16 participants for a more personal experience.

Sessions are held in our beautiful wooden garden Shala. During full retreats, Savasana is often enjoyed outdoors to create space in the Shala, and some afternoon workshops may also take place outside.

Please pack warm layers for practice, especially for Savasana, as mornings and evenings can be chilly.

Arrival & Departure

Rooms will be ready from 3:00pm on arrival day. The retreat begins with a welcome meeting at 6:00pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm. We kindly ask all students to arrive in time for the introduction.

Our first practice session takes place on Sunday morning, and the final practice is on Friday morning. Check-out is on Saturday at 9:00am.
