Essential Mentorship+Emergent Mentorship
A mentorship program with Harmony Slater
Essential Mentorship 9 March - 16 March, Emergent Mentorship 16 March to 23 March 2024

A Mentorship Program with Harmony
This Mentorship with Harmony is designed to comprehensively deepen your personal practice, while giving you new skills and techniques to teach and support others through the practice. Although each week is its own stand-alone course, to go deep, you’ll want to create the time and space to attend both weeks together.
The first week, the Essential Mentorship (March 9-16) will naturally build into the second week, the Emergent Mentorship (March 16-23).
With each added day, you’ll increase your personal understanding and experience of yoga, both on and off the mat, and learn how to hold an inclusive, trauma-informed space for your students. Learn new ways to connect and ground yourself within the somatic practice, as well as in the greater philosophy and teachings of yoga, from both ancient and modern sources.
Whether you are already a teacher, looking for a deeper kind of Mentorship, or simply a student wanting to connect with a heart-centered approach to the practice, Harmony’s compassionate and nurturing guidance will support you.
Harmony’s teachings are rooted in five levels of transformation: mental, emotional, somatic, behavioral, and unconscious. You will experience the power of slowing down to integrate on all these levels, so you can confidently step into your practice as both teacher and student.
Both weeks of this Mentorship are designed to help guests reorient themselves in a spirit-centered approach to practice, learning to use yoga not only as a tool for self-care, but as a doorway to spiritual evolution.
Student will receive a Certificate of Mentorship Training for 40 hours of CEC (Continuing Education Credits) for each week, 80 hours for two weeks, accredited through the certifying body of the Yoga Alliance USA.
** Students who attend both weeks will have the opportunity to assist and develop their teaching skills, learning and practicing physical adjustments during the morning Mysore classes, should they choose to.
Yoga students of all levels, from beginner to experienced practitioners will benefit from this immersion.

Retreat schedule
Week 1 - 9 to 16 March: Essential Mentorship: Unlayering & Stepping into Presence
Mornings
Each morning we will begin by creating an expansive sense of time and space through guided meditation, gentle pranayama, and an asana practice.
Sunday
Guided Primary Series: Strengthening your connection to the subtle movement of energy within each vinyasa. This class will bring focus to energetic locks, internal and external points of focus, breathing and alignment. Students will experience how awareness of subtle energy can be used to create a greater sense of lightness, balance, and ease of movement in the Primary Series.
Monday – Friday
Mysore style is the heart of the Ashtanga Yoga method. In the Mysore method, students are met as individuals. Each person is taught progressively according to his or her readiness. A relationship is cultivated with the teacher and the practice begins to grow over time. The Mysore method of teaching and practice is very effective, and a certain power can be transmitted through the teacher to the students. Practicing with a qualified teacher can be a very transformative experience for students who are open to exploring their inner self, using the asana as a tool for this discovery.
Afternoons
Each afternoon will be a combination of philosophy, practical integration, and somatic practice. We will also talk about how you can best assist and support students. You will expand your awareness of different subtle movements of energy and observe how patterns play out in your body and life.
Sunday – Visions, Values, and Purpose: Start Where You Are. Learning to let go + presence what is.
Monday – Apana & Awareness: Grounding and healing through forward folds and arm balances.
Wednesday – Prana & Presence: Opening the heart and learning to support yourself: back-bending without pain.
Friday – Integration. Weaving the themes from the week together. A time to ask questions & learn to embody compassion.

Practical details about the retreat center
Currently the internet at the retreat is not reliable. If you are dependent on internet for work, we ask you to bring your own data on your phone, to which you can connect your laptop, if needed. Phones work very well. There is also a cafe 10 minutes from the retreat with good internet, however, it is a busy cafe and not very suitable for work.
Finca Naranjas (previously Cristoforo) , our retreat centre is a very simple yet beautiful place, built by an architect named Denis Devaris, who had an intention to create a meeting point for Spiritual seekers. Built slowly over 30 years using volcanic rocks from the island, the rooms are all unique with their own distinct personalities featuring beautiful details and personal touches. Given the nature of these types of buildings, imperfection is to be expected with a plumbing system not quite up to modern standards! However, set right into the land with a wonderfully lush garden, Cristoforo really is an oasis in South Tenerife. When packing for your retreat, make sure you add warmer clothes. From December till March the mornings and evenings can be quite chilly. The rooms are not heated, but are equipped with cozy duvets and hot water bottles for the beds. All rooms are equipped with a water kettle.
The meals
The food served at the retreat will be mainly vegan and completely vegetarian, prepared freshly everyday by our wonderful retreat chefs. We try were possible to use local and organic products. We sometimes use eggs or dairy in the kitchen. If you have food allergies/sensitivities, please let us know. Gluten free options are available. We have a self service tea & coffee station for guest use and try to provide fruit for snacking during the day.
You have the option to enjoy your food either inside or outside in the beautiful garden.
The practice
Maximum number of students is 25.
Practice will take place inside the beautiful wooden garden Shala. Savasana is usually taken outside to make space in the Shala, especially during full retreats and occasionally afternoon workshops will take place outside. Make sure you pack warm practice clothes for Savasana.
Arrival day and check out.
The rooms are available after 3pm. The retreat starts with an introduction meeting at 5pm, followed by dinner at 6.30pm. All students should aim to arrive for the introduction meeting. The first practice is on Sunday morning and the last practice is on Friday in the morning. The check out is on Saturday at 9am.
